It was Christmas at Camelot the feasting was grand With Arthur and Guinevere and all their knights to hand There seemed not a care nothing would spoil the day When in rode a giant knight and he was heard to say I challenge a knight to fight me But you won’t land one blow And the knight was green From his head to his toes Green was his hair his beard and his clothes And Gawain declared his courage that he would show And to that giant knight his gauntlet he did throw The green knight did laugh such a terrible sound Shouting you can have a year to find my battleground And the knight was green From his head to his toes Green was his hair his beard and his clothes Green was his armour his surcoat and his shield How many men had that giant killed Green was his helmet his sword and his lance And only brave Gawain dared to meet his glance The time it did come for the greatest fight Gawain looked so tiny up against that giant knight The giant dropped his sword and gave a mighty grin I like you young sir and so I’ll let you win My challenge has been met and my anger does disappear You have surely proved your bravery for more than a year

Senlac Ridge 03:18
At Stamford Bridge King Harold Took the Vikings by surprise But shortly after victory From the south bad news arrived William had landed To claim the English throne He had the Pope's blessing Men at arms and knights so bold Harold raced back to London His housecarls close behind Receiving news of rape and pillage In the English countryside Harold was determined Not to waste precious time Though his army was depleted He had courage he had pride From the woods the Saxons gathered Out on Senlac Ridge Though they were weary They would not give an inch Up the slope the Normans charged The shield wall held firm The Normans they fell back William had them charge once more The battle raged on all day An arrow took out Harold's eye The shield wall was broken Beneath the autumn skies Yes the battle raged on all day An arrow took out Harold's eye The shield wall was broken Beneath the autumn skies Yes the battle raged on all day An arrow took out Harold's eye The shield wall was broken Beneath the autumn skies

Oh pity the plight of the youngest son Prince Henry was born to be no one With three elder brothers who came before A life in the church was all that lay in store Prince Henry was not content with his lot And the conqueror prophesied and said worry not Let thine elder brothers go before thee For you will be greater just wait and see And so those words rang in his ears The conqueror's prophecy followed him through the years William on his deathbed did declare For Robert there's Normandy I think that's fair William Rufus in England crowned To Henry my youngest I give ten thousand pound And so those words rang in his ears The conqueror's prophecy followed him through the years His brothers came together in pretence of peace For their youngest brother their fury unleashed At Mont-St-Michael Henry made a stand And was cast away from that land And still those words rang in his ears The conqueror's prophecy followed him through the years Let your elder brothers go before For you will be so much more Weep not my boy you will be a king And the prophecy in his ears did ring Then lo and behold William Rufus is dead Killed by Walter Tirel so it is said To Westminster then Henry did ride To be crowned King with Matilda as his bride And still those words rang in his ears The conqueror's prophecy followed him through the years His brother Robert claimed England as his right He landed with an army ready to fight The brother's gave the kiss of peace But Robert''s ill ways still did not cease And still those words rang in his ears The conqueror's prophecy followed him through the years As the ruler of Normandy Robert did fail For anarchy and disorder did prevail To Henry the first the church did appeal To restore peace with his sword of steel In battle Robert was defeated at last And then into prison he was cast Prince Henry was now Duke and King And the prophecy in his ears did ring

The lost ring The minstrels sing The duke's hawk on the wing Oh what tales they could tell The merchant with his goods for sale The jigsaw puzzle has pieces missing Lost history that once was living So many memories that have died And yet some fragments have survived The drunken monk The peasant poor The archer with fingers sore Oh what tales they could tell The merchant's ship has set sail The jigsaw puzzle has pieces missing Lost history that once was living So many memories that have died And yet some fragments have survived The men at arms Medieval farms The tailor with his fabric yarns Oh what tales they could tell The merchant's ship lost in a gale The jigsaw puzzle has pieces missing Lost history that once was living So many memories that have died And yet some fragments have survived

With countless sheaves of arrows And ordnance from the Tyne An army of twenty thousand men Their intent this did define And when they came to Edinburgh The castle they could not attack To James the Third of Scotland The town they did give back But for this English army This time there was no fight They found that the men of Scotland Had disappeared out of sight And when they came to Edinburgh The castle they could not attack To James the Third of Scotland The town they did give back And when they came to Edinburgh The castle they could not attack To James the Third of Scotland The town they did give back With countless sheaves of arrows And ordnance from the Tyne An army of twenty thousand men Their intent this did define And when they came to Edinburgh The castle they could not attack To James the Third of Scotland The town they did give back And when they came to Edinburgh The castle they could not attack To James the Third of Scotland The town they did give back To James the Third of Scotland The town they did give back The town they did give back

Draw close the time has come The knot now tied stands firm Though the enemy comes in it's thousands We have had to learn That we are for our master Having been called to this field To no one else save the King we must ever yield And for our master Harrington Our loyalty is sealed So stand firm in the knowledge That this knot will never break Though they come with horse and lance We bravely meet our fate But we are for our master Having been called to this field To no one else save the King we must ever yield And for our master Harrington Our loyalty is sealed This is our England on this field below this sky We shall face today and if needed bravely die Kiss your sweetheart and bow to the cross and cry For England for the Harringtons For glory do or die Draw close the time has come The knot now tied stands firm Though the enemy comes in it's thousands We have had to learn That we are for our master Having been drawn to this field To no one else save the King we must ever yield And for our master Harrington Our loyalty is sealed

When Lord Strange failed in his escape Twas then that the King learnt nearly too late Of the treachery of Sir William Stanley Such doubtful loyalty for his majesty A very clear message from the King was sent But with nothing to lose Sir William could not relent Sir William the traitor had nothing to lose In declaring support for the Tudor I presume For a while Henry Tudor's nerve nearly failed His demeanour so nervous his face so pale He journeyed to Tamworth and his men must have feared Just like in Normandy he had disappeared A very clear message from the King was sent But with nothing to lose Sir William could not relent Sir William the traitor had nothing to lose In declaring support for the Tudor I presume From Leicester the King led his army out Intent upon victory there is no doubt Near Merevale Abbey close to Watling street That's where Tudor's army he would meet A very clear message from the King was sent But with nothing to lose Sir William could not relent Sir William the traitor had nothing to lose In declaring support for the Tudor I presume Thomas Longe''s duty his King to defend But Roger Wake felt he was no friend Threatened by his letters full sore against his will Untested in battle the summons to fulfil Flickering campfires not so distant Tomorrow to die perhaps in an instant Would they survive and who might they kill The King's army camped on Ambion Hill

Upon the hill see the church The history there to research Bleak and grey for Tudor folk Open the door of ancient oak A corner of this church in Devon John Evan's chantry his bid for heaven A missing prince in stained glass An unsolved mystery of the past The Princes last seen in the tower King Richard blamed for misuse of power But is the truth behind a screen Lament lament the Woodville queen From Bosworth perhaps Sir John had come To Coldridge rewarded for deeds done Deer park and manor his to keep To resolve a mystery we now seek Did he feel a stony stare Hear witch's tongues so evil there In the stained glass window did he see himself Guilt praise despair or something else See the carved stone of Sir John Did a Woodville Queen save her son Perhaps King Edward' s son and heir Inside the tomb who layeth there
